Police found a dead man in Olivia Newton-John’s home in Florida. CBS News reports on Aug. 19 that Olivia Newton-John and her husband were not in the house. The 64-year-old actress and singer is currently renovating the home.
A contractor committed suicide inside Olivia Newton-John’s home in Jupiter Inlet Colony. He allegedly killed himself with a gun. Police have not released the man’s name or any other information about the death. The 42-year-old man appears to have been part of a team of contractors who were hired to renovate the house. Olivia Newton-John and her husband John Easterling were not at home at the time of the suicide.
Newton-John is allegedly trying to sell the house in Florida to Rosie O’Donnell. The former “View” co-host is rumored to be paying $5.6 million for the Jupiter Inlet Colony home. However, the deal may not be final, so she may be able to walk away without being forced to purchase the house after this tragedy.
The “Grease” star purchased the home in 2009 with her husband for $4.1 million. The house has four bedrooms and 7,429 square feet. The home was listed in May, but O’Donnell managed to get the asking price of $6.2 million down to $5.6 million. The house was renovated in 2010 and received natural coral stone flooring, hurricane resistant windows, water purification systems and new appliances. It is not clear why renovations were ordered again by Olivia Newton-John since Rosie O’Donnell allegedly wanted to hire her own contractors.
