Dead birds and fish: Bible prophecy Web searches explode

UPDATED: See links below

As hundreds more dead blackbirds were found in Louisana Monday, Jan. 3, and added to the 4,000 that fell from the sky New Year’s Eve in Arkansas, thousands of dead fish are also in the mix.

The incidents have prompted Christian sects to look to the Bible and, most importantly, to the sky, for more alleged signs of apocalyptic happenings.

While no one person, not even self-proclaimed prophets, know if God of the Christian Bible is now ushering mankind into the End Times, many believe this week’s dead birds and fish are a sign the Great Tribulation talked about in the book of Revelation and Daniel is fast approaching.

As soon as reports of the 4,000 dead birds in Arkansas hit the Web, Saturday, forums were littered with prophecy comments.

The discussion is now on for those stating that the Seventh Seal has been opened and others who are predicting widespread pestilence in coming weeks.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 4, forum moderators and preachers have been busy answering questions about whether God has finally revealed that the return of Jesus Christ will be sooner than many believers think.

As for the dead birds and fish, biologists believe all died from explainable causes. Fish were obviously sick or victims of pollutants, one biologist said Sunday.

Bird experts reported Tuesday that the some 5,000 red wing blackbirds and starlings were probably spooked by New Year’s Eve fireworks and flew into inclement weather where they met heavy ice, rain, snow and wind.

Meantime, Internet keyword searches continue to register off the charts. Queries like “dead fish Bible,” dead birds and fish Revelation,” dead birds and fish die End Times.” were being entered by the million Tuesday.

End Time Prophecy: The abbreviated version...

According to the book of Revelation (depending on how one interprets prophetic code), there will be an increase in earthquakes, floods, war, and strange phenomena before God ushers mankind into the Great Tribulation, a three-and-half- year period of poverty, war, persecution, disease and mass death.

Most Christians believe God will unleash the wrath while world powers move closer to one final battle between good and evil--the battle of Armageddon.

According to Christians, Jesus Christ will return to Earth to save mankind from destroying the world, while non-believers, and the devil, will be thrown into an eternal lake of fire.

What about the dead birds and fish? Both are believed to be among those weeded-out during the first stages of the period.

Whether these events will unfold lies with those who believe in Bible prophecy. However, according to prophecy, as many understand it, they will occur before Christ returns.

According to studies, 41 percent of Americans believe Jesus Christ will return by 2050. The remaining 59 percent make up those who predict other dates and groups who don’t believe in the Second Coming.

the tribulation period will last 7 years not 3.5. Read your bible. I would suggest Jimmy Swaggarts Expositors Study bible, and the first seal hasnt been opened yet, so this is not the seventh seal. This could be a message from god that he is coming back soon. Or it could be the forces of the antichrist in Washington controlling our leaders, which are causing these things as well. The antichrist will give great signs and wonders on the earth and the heaven. hence UFO's, Dead Birds, Dead Fish, Weird Weather Patterns, Strange earthquakes, etc. The antichrist is here, and will reveal himself shortly, the church will be raptured out just prior to his announcement. The dead in christ will rise out of the graves, the bones, and any flesh left, to meet their spirit in the air, and will be glorified, restored in midair, then those alive in Christ will rise from the ground to the air, and will go away with jesus and the father so that the Antichrist can have his way.

You better pray there isnt a pre-trib rapture Justin, Revelation 22: 14 blessd are those who keep God's comandments, for THEY shall enter into the gates of the city. Repent, and keep God's ten commandments, all ten.

All of the non believers should at least acknowledge a higher power that has made this world able to keep complex life alive for so long.
There are so many things that make the Earth a staggering marvel to have happened by chance. The Earth is just the right distance, has just the right mix of gases to breathe, just the right temperature, a magnetosphere to whisk away damaging solar winds, a moon to keep the Earth tilted just right for needed weather patterns, an ozone layer to keep us from burning to a crisp the moment we step outside, a buffet of different foods, a Sun that can burn for billions of years with the most efficient use of power known to man, etc, etc, etc,
There are too many things that are life giving on this Earth to deny a higher creator. I am an Earth and space science teacher. The more I learn, the more I realize just how sure I am of a creator.

no rapture my friend the bible says that the angels will sound their trumpets so thats not a secret rapture.but read matt 24 where it says kingdom and nations against each other this could be the first world war and there are some who was alive then will see Christ coming.so please read the bible properly there is no writing about anything secret.why would my God be secretive.everyone one will hear and see it.

The tribulation is a 7 year period but that known as "The Great Tribulation" will be the second half, or last 3.5 years. Let us not be lazy saved folks either. We have been commissioned to share the truth of the Bible. God bless all who read and pray that God uses us as salt, to increase the thirst for living water, and light to open the eyes and guide people to the true Light!

Really? Where in the bible does it mention a "lake of fire"? This article is pure non-sense. Also worth noting is that nowhere in any book of any translation of the bible is there mention of dead birds or anything of the like. The word "Phenomenon" (in any translation) is not even mentioned.

  • Ed 1 year ago

Start in chapter 20 in the book of Revelation and read till you get to the end. Actually, mikemike is it, you should start by falliing on your face and beg God to reveal his truth to you by his Holy Spirit, then start at Genisis like I did.

All whose names were not found written in the book of life were thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

  • Tati 1 year ago

Actually the Tribulation is divided into two sections, both lasting 3.5 years but ultimately adding up to seven years. The New Living Translation Bible states that in Revelation 20:10 that "..the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfer, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." Therefore the lake of fire is mentioned.
All in all these events seem to be the birth pains Jesus talked about in the New Testament leading up to his return.
Seek God while you still have time now, He's only a prayer away!

  • Ed 1 year ago

Christ fulfiled the first 3 1/2 with his ministry (Daniel 9:27) Antichrist will fulfil the last 3 1/2 with his ministry. The book of Revelation says the beast reigns for 1260 days 3 1/2 years. Dont be fooled by what the church has put out.

i believe in the Lord.....He is my Savior. but i really dont think this has anything to do with the bible. the birds were scared by fireworks....and migrated north into inclement winter weather.....thus they died

  • chris 1 year ago

i dont know why it happened , but why would this not happen every 4th of july and new years, plus dont those birds sleep at night when u would be shooting fireworks ,sounds like a weak excuse

  • Melissa 1 year ago

Wouldn't dead birds falling from the sky occur more often if it had been the fireworks that scares them? Think of Fourth of July and other New Years.....

  • Mike 1 year ago

    Over an entire square mile??
I don't care if you threw a stick of dynamite up there it wouldn't kill birds that far away. And why would they migrate north in the winter? I would think that is worse. Are thier compass' off?

I believe you wayne the world has been an ugly place forever what makes these times so special i mean every day 250000 to 300000 people die every day and people are worried about some birds and fish. most predictions can be found true if you look hard enough. dont get me wrong i believe in god but people use these sitiuations to put cash in their pockets and it shows how some people are trash. my buddy had all of his catfish die in his stock pond last year lets go ahead and throw that in the mix. when the end happens it will happen dont sit around worring about it

What is in your heart at this moment is what counts. If you confess your sins and confess that Jesus is God's Son and that He died on the cross for you then you are saved by grace. God is not out to count our faults against us. He will remove your sins as far as the east is from the west. You don't have to understand everything in the Bible to accept Him. With that said, there are several translations and commentaries out there to help you understand God's word. Try to read the NIV (New International Version)and then follow it with a reading of the same text from The Message. This should make things more clear for you. Trust in Him and pray and you will be fine. He loves you. There is no need to fear.

mememe, I am compelled to respond to your post. No one, with the exception of Jesus, has completey obeyed the Ten Commandments. Jesus was perfect and obeyed them all without fail. The Commandments were given as a tool to bring us to a place of brokenness, they are to teach us we cannot do it on our own, we need Jesus. If we confess our sins, repent or turn away from our sins, He is just and faithful to forgive us of those sins. Our imperfection is replaced by His perfection. We, then, are to seek Him in all we do, every decision, so that we can grow in Him. We do that by reading His Word, even if we don't completely understand it, However, through continued study, prayer, and seeking help from other believers we grow in our faith and trust in Him. However, be very careful of those who would attempt to deceive you. No one has all the answers and no doctrine or theology is 100% correct. You will know those who are true believers by their demeanor as they will love and care for you, not demand that you conform to their doctrine. They will guide you in love, including pointing out where you may need to rethink your position on certain issues. My hope and prayer is that you know the full love and peace that only comes from our Lord Jesus Christ. May He bless you greatly as you endeavor to serve HIm.

no one can be 100% faithful but you should try to be as much as you can.

Go to JSM dot org and get a copy of the Expositor's Study Bible. There is no other like it as it has the King James word for word translation from the original Greek & Hebrew plus under each verse it gives a narative explanation with cross references. Very easy to read the entire letter from our creator to us regarding the redemption plan for mankind. The old testimate all points to the coming of the messiah Jesus Christ and then the New Testimate shows all of the prophecies being fulfilled. Then it gives us the new doctrine to believe after the saviour came with all types of How To information and then tells us all about the future here and upward. If you cannot afford the $50 for this bible then I will pay for it. Actually they are over $100 in cost to print them but someone else is paying for half of it for you and I am willing to pay for the balance.

I had the same feeling of the bible for a long time, but the bible is the word and the truth of God and you need to learn about it and build an understanding of it to build a relationship with the Lord. The confusion of the bible stopped me from reading it for many years, it took some hard times in my life to push me toward it, if you ask the Lord to open your heart to teach you his word, it will all come into place. You don't have to do it alone, there are wonderful bible studies, people to talk to, churches to attend that over time will help you understand the bible, it may never make 100 percent sense to you . . . but I PROMISE you will be blessed and have such a better understanding of God if you get into the word. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, all he asked us to do is believe him and accept what he did for us, after you do that the holy spirit will guide you to live for him and following the commandments will become much easier for you because you will learn to love and respect God and obey him as you would obey your earthly father. Don't worry what other people say about your salvation, that is between you and the Lord. The bible can answer all of your questions :)
    —John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."

mememe, its not like me to respond to things like this, but when i read your comment, i felt like i had to say something. i can understand where you're coming from about your impressions as a little girl. i was a little like that when i was little also. but it wasn't until i recieved jesus into my life that i finally understood more. the bible teaches us that even the devil believes in jesus. he is aware of jesus's power and his authority, but does not accept him. the bible teaches that its only possible to enter heaven when you accept jesus as your savior, because without accepting his gift of eternal life in our hearts, no matter how hard we try, we'll never be able to go without sin completely. if we dont rely on jesus to be our guide and our hope in our lives, trying to do as many good things as we can will only be in vain. and i strongly recommend reading the bible. its extremely importnt in strengthening faith. i can relate about not understanding it. i felt a little overwhemled by it when i first started walking with the lord. but keep praying to god to give you the wisdom to understand his word. worked for me. hope this helps mememe. :)

For the people that has Gods mark in there forehead (mind)has nothing to fear, they will not be harmed. Listen to Arnold Murray with Sheperds Chapel. I look forward to the end, i hope it happens before i pass.

  • Brian 1 year ago

To tlea..... you need to back away from Arnold Murray, he is deceived, and now you are too.

Facts: Arnold Murray does not possess the "diplomas" that he claims to have earned. There is no record of his attending those universitys, and no evidence stated on his website about his background, etc. His doctrines are personal and unsubstanciated by scripture. He makes up what he wants to be... not what is truth. Requests for documentation of his "doctorate" are met with the phone being hung up.

    Facts:
Shepherd's Chapel, Arnold Murray Gravette, AR: Denies the Trinity, teaching instead a doctrine similar to Modalism. Also teaches that humans existed as "gods" in a pre-creation existence with God. Advocates British Israelism and a form of the serpent seed doctrine.

Serpent Seed: Doctrine that alleges Eve's sin in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3) was sexual. Eve had intercourse with the Serpent and begot Cain, whose father is really Satan not Adam. Cain's descendants were supposedly somehow perpetuated after the flood (usually through Noah's son Ham). Diverse groups teach variations of this doctrine. Cain's descendants are: Jews according to the Christian Identity Movement, Communists/Atheists according to the Unification Church, Whites according to the Nation of Yahweh, the lost according to William Branham, etc.
