The dead bird and dead fish phenomenon that has appeared to have gone global does appear in a bible verse. In this Bible verse, the dead fish and dead birds are affiliated with “the day of Jehovah’s wrath.”
Dead birds and dead fish appearing in masses across the globe in the last few days have spawned a frenzy of end of the world questions. Many have taken to their computers to search “dead birds” and “dead fish” along with the “Bible.”
A few verses in the bible do mention both the dead fish and the dead birds, but this verse, Zephaniah 1-3, which was sent in by a reader, does mention the banishment of animals, but birds and fish in particular with the day of judgment.
“I will consume the birds of the heavens and the fishes of the sea,” is the quote from the American Standard Version of the Bible as published on the website Bible Gate. The rest of the verse can be seen on Bible Gate. The verse goes on to explain mans demise and how the riches they have amassed will do nothing to save them from this.
The Bible is a book that is subject to interpretation, both coming from the different religions and by the individual themselves.
The dead fish and dead birds that are mentioned in this bible verse does come before the other things that man shall experience, such as “I will punish the princes and king’s sons, and all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.” The verse goes on to say, “wealth shall become a spoil, and their houses a desolation, yea, they shall build houses, but shall not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards but shall not drink the wine thereof.”
“That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.” Is one of the ways this verse describes what will come.
Again, The dead birds and dead fish mentioned in this verse, are mentioned along with other things, such as “I will consume man and beast.” This has not happened along with the fishes and the birds, so again it is open to interpretation.
The dead birds and dead fish that have been found around the globe have many theories, but as of yet, no definitive scientific answer. There has not even been a science based theory that encompasses the masses of dead birds and dead fish found in the last few days.
Connecticut experienced a strange phenomenon with dead fish over a century ago. The New York Times of 1895 published a story of the Connecticut lakes in Middletown and other surrounding areas experiencing dead fish by the masses showing up on the shores of lakes. Due to the lack of sanitation technology, or even a formal sanitation department for that day and age, the fish carcasses fell apart and rotted, tainting the water and causing a horrendous stench.
Connecticut’s 1895 dead fish in masses just proves that these natural phenomenon’s are nothing new, it is just the numbers of incidents were vast around the globe in the last few days.
Although, in 1895 if the same thing was happening world wide, the Connecticut residents would have probably never known. The Internet has made it possible to know of all these dead birds and dead fish occurrences at the same time. In 1895, even if dead fish and dead birds were occurring in the next state, they may not have known about it in Connecticut. So it could just be the modern technology that we enjoy today is offering a side affect! Too much info has many worried! (Just playing devils advocate).
