Dubbed the “Australian Oscars,” the AACTA awards recognized the talent of American actor Robert De Niro for his role in film “The Silver Linings Playbook,” playing opposite Australian actress Jacki Weaver (looking lovely in her black lace dress, peeptoe pumps and dangling earrings) as the parents of Bradley Cooper’s character, which won them both Best Supporting Actor/Actress. Director David O. Russell scored the best directing honors in the film, while actress Jennifer Lawrence took away the Best Leading Actress and Producers Jonathan Gordon, Donna Gigliotti and Bruce Cohen too got awarded!

Director Quentin Tarantino was recognized for Best Screenplay for his film “Django Unchained.” British actor Daniel Day Lewis too got the Best Leading Actor award for his role as “Lincoln.”
