Yesterday, Oscar de la Hoya and Paulie 'Magic Man' Malignaggi hit up Brooklyn for a special occasion that not only benefits boxing but also benefits New York tourism.
The president of Golden Boy Promotions and the World Champ got together with amateur boxers from USA Boxing Metro at the celebrated Gleason's Gym in the New York borough.
There for a special boxing clinic presented by Brooklyn sports and entertainment, part of the conglomerate that is Barclays Center and Golden Boy Promotions.
Malignaggi has just begun his affiliation for Golden Boy to fight in the welterweight division as well as acting as one of the company’s special New York ambassadors.
Magic Man will focus on promoting events in Brooklyn, his hometown. These efforts are just part of the deal with The Barclays Center, also located the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan.
So, as Oscar de la Hoya and Malignaggi hit Brooklyn, the two fighters do a lot for New York tourism too.
