DDD hosts Clover Cup 2013 this weekend; features some of the region's best teams (Photos)

Tournament action comes to the local roller derby world this upcoming weekend, March 22 to 24, Friday through Sunday, as the Dallas Derby Devils host the 4th Annual Clover Cup at NyTex Sports Centre in North Richland Hills. The address of NyTex is 8851 Ice House Drive, North Richland Hills, TX.

Featuring 7 teams from 5 states, Clover Cup features some of the best derby action in the South Central region.

Doors open at 6 pm on Friday night with two warm up bouts. One is a men’s bout featuring two squads from the Dallas Deception men’s league, the Brotherhood vs. the Dirty Mother Truckers. The other is DDD’s B-travel team, the Battalion of Doom, taking on the Oklahoma Victory Doll’s B Travel Team. Doors open at 6 pm.

Things really kick into gear Saturday MORNING, with doors opening at 7 am. The first bout of the day is at 8 am, with Duke City (New Mexico) Derby taking on Memphis Roller Derby. Next up at 10 am are the Oklahoma Victory Dolls vs. the Hard Knox (Knoxville) Roller Girls.

Your hometown Dallas Derby Devils' Army of Darkness skate their first bout at 12 noon, taking on cross-town rivals The Assassination City Conspiracy. At 2:30, the top seeded Tallahassee Rollergirls take on the winner of the Duke City/Memphis bout.

Action will continue until the evening, with three more bouts scheduled for Saturday, to be determined by who wins and who loses, and there will be an additional four more bouts- including the Championship - on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday’s action also kicks off at 8 am, with doors opening at 7 am.
