DC VEGFEST: Discover your Health

Wondering what a vegetarian eats or what a vegan is? Are you middle age and thinking, maybe it’s time to get serious about the impact of what you eat and your health? Want to know what are the specific health benefits in being vegetarian? Get all those questions answered and more by attending DC VegFest on September 24th at George Washington University. This year I speak from first hand experience, after attending last year. I highly recommend it. It’s fun, informative and uplifting (just being around healthy food and health-conscious people.)

This year‘s fest, once again, promises to please with appearances from Wendy Reiger, a local TV anchor and vegetarian herself. The kick-off for the all-star cast is animal behaviorist, Jonathan Balcombe followed by Brennan Gerald who will walk us through his yummy, as well as healthy, vegetarian recipes. Colleen Patrick-Goudreau will discuss her book, “The 30-Day Vegan Challenge,” which will be of special interest to those of you who want to test the water. Next find out your vegetarian IQ with Dr. Michael Greger. Don’t miss the opportunity for a free cholesterol screening with Dr. Greger.
