DC Comics revealed their release for Free Comic Book Day 2013 today, and it is definitely one to get excited about.
Reprinting the story from "Action Comics" #844, " The Last Son of Krypton" -- a fantastic collaboration between DC's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and original Superman (1978) director Richard Donner -- the issue will also contain a preview of the highly anticipated new "Superman" series by scribe Scott Snyder and fan-favorite artist Jim Lee.
Lee and Snyder promise "big things" for the Man of Steel, so many fans of the character are aching to get their hands on any anything detailing the direction the series is taking. Snyder is currently writing the critically acclaimed "Batman" series, so DC is hoping that he can bring the same epic scope and meticulous plotting to their most famous creation. The current ongoing "Superman" books aren't getting the attention that DC would like them to, even with names like Grant Morrison ("JLA", "The Invisibles") and George Perez ("Crisis on Infinite Earths", "New Teen Titans") attached, so bringing someone as popular as Snyder on to take the reigns seems to be a step in the right direction for the publisher.
Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May and copies are limited, so make sure you're there early!
