DC residents will be given free lessons to assist in online health insurance enrollment. DC Health Link is the District of Columbia health insurance marketplace and is leading the nation in providing information and sessions to teach residents how to enroll for the new healthcare law with sessions starting on Tuesday October 8, 2013.
A full schedule of the sessions is provided with this article. DC residents are now required by law to buy healthcare insurance. The sessions provided by the DC Public Library and the Department of Parks and Recreation are designed to explain the process in easy to understand terms.
In the debates and speeches in Congress it has been disclosed that even brilliant Harvard trained lawyers are having problems with some aspects of the law. There is no shame in asking for help to deal with one of the most complicated laws in American history.
“DC Health Link, the District’s online health insurance marketplace is offering a series of free in-person information sessions for individuals, families and small business owners where they will learn first-hand how to search for health plans, compare choices, and enroll in the new online health insurance,” DC Heath Link said.
According to DC Health Link, the educational sessions are being hosted in partnership with DC Public Library and DC Department of Parks and Recreation to help consumers and small business owners to become familiar with the new online marketplace and the enrollment process.
The session will also provide participants with information on the Affordable Care Act (ACA), DC Health Link, and the new Medicaid options. The sessions will give residents the tools for making informed decisions to help customers select a health insurance plan that best meets their needs and budgets. The sessions will be taught by trained and certified DC Health Link Assisters. There will also be healthcare insurance brokers and staff on site to answer questions and provide enrollment support.
