DC Nation restructure update (Photos)

In the beginning of this week Cartoon Network issued a press release that confirms the premieres of new and returning television series for 2013-2014. Next season’s line-up of programming did not include Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice. It was later confirmed these two cartoon series would be canceled from Cartoon Network’s DC Nation program block and in favor of new programs Teen Titans Go!, set for April debut, and Beware The Batman, set for a summer premiere.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice fans are obviously distraught to hear another superhero program to get canceled in favor of something else. However, the long hiatus between new episodes and lack of promoting new episodes may have contributed to the two programs’ decline in ratings. It comes as no shock that the Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice would eventually get canceled.

Currently, Cartoon Network has yet to release a clear explanation for series’ cancelations, but the network is moving forward just like any other television network.

On a separate note, Disney’s Tron: Uprising is expected to get canceled since Disney is allocating there resources into making another live-action Tron movie. It is unlikely Tron: Uprising will get a satisfying send off to bridge the gaps between Tron and Tron: Legacy. Tron: Uprising also suffered a similar fate with Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice, long hiatuses and lack of promoting new episodes. Sadly Tron: Uprising’s ratings were so low the last few episodes aired at midnight. Fortunately, Disney will start airing Star Wars: Clone Wars.
