It's been an exciting week for the entertainment and jewelry industries...as the Brit Awards wrapped up in London, DC Fashion Week kicked into full swing on the other side of the Atlantic. As of publication, there is one more day packed full with events for those keeping close tabs on the fashion world in the apparel, footwear, jewelry, and other industries. The week long event, held in Washington, DC, began on February 17th, 2014 and will conclude on February 23rd. DC Fashion Week is a biannual culmination of events throughout the city- presentations, parties, and runway shows celebrating current international fashion trends and emerging designers.
Currently, DC Fashion Week is considered one of the fastest growing international fashion exhibits throughout the world. More important, DC Fashion Week establishes the visibility of our nation's capital as a center for international fashion, design, and culture. This week, over 50 international designers and labels from across the gamut of fashion have assembled from Peru, Ukraine, London, Nigeria, Algeria, France, and everywhere in between to showcase their latest collections. The average designer exhibited between 10-20 design styles in their respective categories at this season's DC Fashion Week. Some of the events were free to the public, whereas some required admission fees.

Jewelry fanatics and fashion gurus should pay close attention to the styles and brands that have debuted this week on the runways. DC Fashion Week gives us a glimpse of the styles and trends to expect on the red carpet and in department stores throughout 2014. The next DC Fashion Week will be held September 24th-28th.
