The 20th DC Fashion Week is well on its way and has already dazzled Washington fashionistas with some design-forward ware by established designers Irena Levkovich and Ean Williams.

Get ready for emerging designer crew showcasing their creations on February 22 at 7 pm at 1150 Washington Post Conference Center 15th St. NW.

Meet Dur Doux (pronounced dur “do”) a new fashion label by Najla Burt - edgy, elegant and easy to wear collection. The label is built on the concept of wearability with an avant-garde sensibility. Dur Doux’s signature comprises of unexpected shapes, details and unique fabrications. The essence is strong, sensual and feminine; the line gives a powerful edge to sophistication.

The collection consists of 17 ready-to-wear pieces such as outerwear, dresses and separates that can be worn together. The collection has hints of sci-fi. Najla imagined a world of a woman experiencing an apocalypse in the future and what her wardrobe would look like after this catastrophic event. She wanted to tell this woman’s story of starting anew and rebuilding her life through her wardrobe. The contrast between hard and soft, transparent and solid and technical and natural fabrics reflects the tension between the past and the future and the uncertainty of the present.

See you at the show!
