DC Comics seem to set up every September to be a big event, and 2014 looks to be no different. According to Bleeding Cool on Oct. 8, next year's big event might be a look five years into the future of the superheroes.
The first September was of course the start of the New DC 52, which began five years after Superman was the first known superhero on Earth. That was followed up on the one-year anniversary with “Year Zero” issues, which told an untold story of each hero from before their New DC 52 stories began.
The second anniversary was this year with “Villain’s Month.”
Now, it looks like 2014 will take a one-month look at what the DC Comics universe looks like five years from now. This will be a one-month deal where the comics jump ahead which will then lead into a new weekly comic book based in this future world.
This sounds a great deal like the series “52” which lasted a full year and told stories of a world without Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in it.
Bleeding Cool also points out some trivia that “Forever Evil” #2 mentions that the Bizarro clone would be ready in five years, which can’t just be a coincidence.
