A major upcoming title in the world of PC gaming is that of “DayZ.” What started off as a mod for the military simulator “ARMA 2,” this “zombie-apocalypse simulator” is now in the process of becoming a standalone release due to the insane amount of popularity that it has gained. With the upcoming release of “DayZ Standalone,” many fans of this title have been questioning if it will be coming to next generation consoles, the Xbox 720 and PS4.
In reference to “DayZ” appearing on the Xbox 720 and PS4, a post from Feb. 15 on the official Tumblr for “DayZ” reveals that it would definitely be possible to run this title on next-gen consoles. “Personally, yes I believe it would be technically possible. Some of the consoles will be easier than others. There are some issues with requirements for publishers which are really annoying, and I have been frustrated in the past with some of the rules required that force some weird design changes in games (I don’t like tutorials!).”
As stated above, there are many other obstacles involved with bringing a title such as this to consoles, such as the Xbox 720 and PS4, outside of requiring the appropriate hardware. Currently, there is no definite sign that “DayZ” will appear on the Xbox 720 or PS4, but the possibility of this happening certainly has not been ruled out.
