Daytona Beach Police report that they arrested a 15-year old boy Friday night on a felony Aggravated Battery charge after a, “…gang style beating.” A report on the Police Department website says the teenager was also expected to face a misdemeanor Violation of Probation charge, following the felony arrest. Police say the incident started as a 14-year old boy was riding his bike at the Dickerson Center on South Martin Luther King Boulevard early Friday evening. Police say the youth was chased, knocked off his bike, and pursued to the porch of a nearby residence by five other juveniles. Police say the 14-year old was cornered on the porch, punched, kicked, and “…stomped on the head and body.”
The 14-year old was taken to a hospital by his mother, and police report he suffered a, “…severe concussion, laceration to the top of his head and a laceration to his bottom lip.” A video of the incident that police say was posted by one of the juveniles on Facebook was also supplied to investigating officers, and the 15-year old was identified from the video by his Probation Officer and then arrested.
