Daytona Beach Firefighters were called to a house fire in the 300 block of Phoenix Avenue Saturday afternoon. Fire engines and fire hose lines marked the street on the beachside as firefighters wearing air tanks made trips between the house and their equipment. Daytona Beach Police blocked traffic in the area. The main damage appeared to be to the back of the house, though parts of the front of the home showed evidence of damage also. Daytona Beach fire units including Engine 3 and Fire Rescue 1 were on the scene, and an EVAC ambulance stood by initially in case it was needed.
