Daytona and Volusia firefighters attack house fire New Year’s morning (Photos)

Volusia County and Daytona Beach firefighters were called to a house fire on Primrose Lane early New Year’s Day. Unconfirmed reports were that there was roof damage to the home, but no one was hurt. The Daytona Beach Fire Department’s Tower 5 truck was on the scene, along with other County and City units. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Department blocked traffic in the early morning hours in the neighborhood while fire crews battled the blaze. Earlier in the morning, Daytona Beach Fire Department units were called to the Bayberry Lakes subdivision for a reported brush fire. However, no fire was located and people celebrating New Year’s on Springberry Court confirmed to this Examiner that the call was a false alarm, most likely due to fireworks.
