The Dayton Broncos led 10-5 after five innings of play but could not hang on as Kingwood Park rallied for nine runs in their final two at bats to snatch a 14-10 victory from the jaws of defeat.
The Broncos broke out on top with three quick runs in the bottom of the first. Lead-off hitter Bryce Armstrong got things started stroking a 2-2 pitch into left field for a double. Bradley Sowell walked and both advanced to scoring position on a passed ball. Timothy Wehmeyer's groundout scored Armstrong with the game's first run. Kevin Roe doubled home Sowell and later scored on an eror off the bat of Jordan Trahan.
Kingwood bounced back with two runs in the top of the third but Dayton rebuilt its lead with three in the bottom half of the inning. Rbi hits by Trahan and Connor Green gave Dayton a 6-2 lead after three.
Two more runs in the fourth and fifth innings built a 10-5 Broncos lead after five before the wheels fell off for Dayton.
Back to back home runs in the top of the sixth with one out got things started for Kingwood Park. K-Park put up five to tie the game and followed with four more in the seventh to post a 14-10 win.
The Broncos who scored ten runs on ten hits were led by Armstrong, Roe and Wehmeyer with two hits a piece. Armstrong also scored three times while Trahan collected two rbi's to lead the team.
Sowell who relieved Roe with two outs in t second took the loss.
The Broncos (12-3) travel to Humble on Tuesday march 19 for a 6p.m. match-up.
