Kyle McBride and the Dayton Broncos took just thirteen seconds to quiet the Livingston Lions. enroute to a Week 1 24-7 win.
McBride received the opening kick-off and 85 yards later crossed the goal line with the game's opening score. It was the first of McBride's three first half touchdowns. The Bronco speedy back scored with 1:47 to play in opening quarter giving the Broncos a 14-0 lead. McBride scored again in the second quarter handing Dayton a 21-0 early second quarter lead.
Livingston cut into the three score deficit with Kurt Wilson 15 yard run with 5:03 on the clock.
A 27 yard Omar Serrano field goal extended the lead to 24-7 with less then a minute to plauy till the halftime whistle.
After a poor performance last week that had fans wondering if Dayton was for real, the Bronco defense quieted its critics limiting Livingston to 202 yards of total offense and Wilson to a 1 of 10 passing night.
On offense Dayton started to click aas Jacarious Keener connected on 10 of 13 for 95 yards. Keener and McBride also combined for 142 yards on the ground.
Dayton (1-1) will host New Caney (1-1) on Friday night at Bronco Stadium with a 7pm kick-off.
