The Dayton Broncos baseball teamcontinue to roll through the opposition downing Westchester Christian 5-0 in their opening game of the GCM tournament. Bradley Sowell pitched a complete game one hitter helping the Broncos post their ninth win of the season.
Dayton struck for two runs in the second and three in the third. Blake Schmidt and Jordan Trahan reached to open the second before Connor Green brought them home for a 2-0 lead after two innings of play.
Bryce Armstrong opened the third with a single, advanced to second on a groundout by Sowell and then to third on a passed ball before scoring on a Timothy Wehmeyer line drive single. A walk to Kevin Roe, and an error loaded the bases for the Broncos. Trahan then delivered a single scoring both Wehmeyer and Roe to round out the 5-0 win.
Whemeyer led the Broncos offensive attack with two hits. Green and Trahan had two rbi's a piece in the win.
Sowell finished the night with eight strikeouts against no walks.
Dayton continues play today in the GCM tournament against Rayburn at 11:30a.m. The Broncos return to district action on March 12 at C.E. King. First pitch is slated for 6p.m.
