Dayton picks up two more wins

Playing back to back games on Friday and Saturday, the Dayton Broncos suffered their first loss of the season and then rebounded for a win on Saturday afternoon.

After defeating the New Caney Eagles 4-2 on Wednesday, the Eagles handed the Broncos their first loss of the season on the back end of the home and home district series. The win on Wednesday came on the strength of a Kevin Roe complete game performance and Austin Riche's perfect 3 for 3 night at the plate. Riche also scored twice as the Broncos moved to 8-0.

On Friday night, March 7, 2014, the Eagles returned the favor handing Dayton it's first loss of the season and evening their district record at 1-1.

Dayton rebounded Saturday beating Kingwood Park 4-3 as left-hander Tim Wehmeyer threw six strong innings of work. Roe picked up the save. Triston Baughman and Brad Sowell led the offense with two hits apiece. One of Baughman's hits included a solo home run

The Broncos improved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in District 19-4A play. Kingwood Park hosts Dayton on Tuesday at 6p.m.
