This year's Daytime Emmy Awards will be a first of many sorts. A series that was produced to be shown specifically online, "One Life to Live" is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series and now come news that the ceremony will not air on TV.

Instead, the show be livestreamed, the first time in the history of the show. The Daytime Emmy Awards, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, will be streamed live at www.daytimeemmys.net beginning at 5:00 p. m. on June 22.

With declining ratings and the absence of high profile Daytime stars attending the awards such as Ellen DeGeneres and in past years Oprah Winfrey, the ceremony has struggled to find a home on the major networks.

In the past the National Academy of Television had managed to strike last-minute deals with the CW, CBS and HLN the last few years, but this year it couldn't be done.

"We are confident that the expert team we’ve brought on will flawlessly execute an evening that celebrates the outstanding talent being honored and allows fans to be a part of the action,” said Malachy Wienges, Chairman of NATAS.

The 41st Daytime Emmy nominations were announced May 1st with multiple noms for "The Young and the Restless" with 26, "The Bold and the Beautiful" with 18, "General Hospital" with 16, "Sesame Street" with 15, "Days of Our Lives" with 14 and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" with 9 nominations.
