Travis Meeks formed the rock band Days of the New in 1995.  The band's self-titled first album went platinum and produced the two Mainstream Rock #1's "Touch, Peel and Stand" and "Shelf in the Room".  While touring in support of the album, the band ran into constant conflicts and had to cancel many of the dates.  Meeks would soon fire the rest of the band and hire a new band for Days of the New's second album, which was also self-titled.

The second album would see only moderate success, selling less than 500,000 copies.  The new band would, however, send 2 singles into the Mainstream Rock Top 10.  "Enemy" climbed to #2, and "Weapon & the Wound" would peak at #10.

Meeks would hire a new band again for the third self-titled Days of the New Album, but the third album, a live album, and a compilation album would never see the success of the original band.  Meeks still travels under the Days of the New name, sometimes with hired tour musicians and sometimes solo.  The House of Bricks show will just be Meeks and his guitars.

Over the years, Meeks has battled through rehab for meth addiction, constantly changing band members, having to cancel many of his shows, and watching his original bandmates find success in their new endeavor as Tantric, but he has soldiered on and is working on a new Days of the New album entitled called Days of the New Presents Tree Colors.  The new album has been in the works for several years, but no release date has been announced.
