Daylight Saving Time is right around the corner - this Sunday, March 9, to be exact. Spring is in the air, flowers are starting to bloom in some Southern states, and Easter isn't too far away. Those folks affected by blizzards and snow storms the winter will welcome this change with an extra hour of daylight.
Daylight Saving Time starts on March 9, 2014 at 2 AM. Don't forget to set your clock ahead. (Those who forget will be the ones who arrive late to church on Sunday.) You will lose an hour of sleep this go round - in the fall we "fall back" an hour and gain an hour of sleep. Not all areas of the USA recognize Daylight Saving Time. Most of Arizona, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico don't change their clocks.
It might be helpful to put a note on your smartphone calendar to change the clocks in your house on Saturday, March 8. Most electronic and mobile devices will automatically update, so you don't have to worry about changing settings on your iPhone, computer, or satellite TV equipment. And don't forget to change the clock in the car - don't have a panic attack when you thinking you are running an hour late.
