HERE COMES MARKY!! And they’re off!!
Gulf Greyhound Park is the world’s #1 largest greyhound racing operation and only 30 miles from Houston. It opened its doors in November 1992 and has provided entertainment for over 10 million fans.
Initially the park required semi formal attire and did not permit children. Over the years attendance dwindled and the policy was modified to allow children and casual attire.
General admission is $1 and the Clubhouse is $3 per person. The Clubhouse is worth the extra few bucks. You have a TV on your table and an attendant. The food is reasonably priced. Most meals are under $10. Keep in mind they do not offer free refills on any drinks. Water is free!
You may want to arrive a little early to get accustomed to the racing terminology. Trifecta, Quinella and Boxing are all foreign to the non gambler. If you need extra assistance they will provide you with an attendant at your table to assist you with your betting options.
The kids love to watch the dogs race and with betting starting at $2 it’s definitely an economical form of entertainment for the entire family.
