On February 13th of this year a new American dream became a reality for owner Bill Kinniard, a life long construction worker took the leap of faith. "It's what I've always wanted to do, but I wanted it to be different from the norm." And it certainly is, as soon as you walk through the door you take a little step back in time. This establishment has the feel and appeal of a typical 1950's diner, complete with all the memorabilia on the walls. You can find all sorts of photos and record albums to take you back and remind you of the good old days. Adorning every wall in the Daybreak are favorites like Nat "King" Cole, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and of course The Fonz, what diner would be complete without that? Mr. Kinniard says "I'm a huge fan of Americana, some were mine but most were donated by the building's owner." Molly, a long time friend and the owner of Suzie's sub shop and the building which now, houses both restaurants generously allowed these items to be used in the Daybreak Diner. As business increases Bill hopes to extend the hours. However, for now, they are only open for breakfast Monday - Friday Am to Am Saturday & Sunday Am to Pam.
The decor isn't the only thing to welcome you, this diner has a full service breakfast menu. Mr. Kinniard has taken samples of many well known favorites and added some simple but unique twists to create a delectable menu all his own. The most secretive item on the menu is an item/ingredient that appears with many other items: "Alma's 5 Star Sausage Gravy". When asked "Who is Alma?", Bill said "She is my girlfriend's mom, she wouldn't even give her daughter the recipe. But when I told her what I wanted to do and asked her for it she made me promise never to share it with anyone. I made it at home and tried it and that was it, I knew it had to be on my menu." One outstanding menu item is the #11 "Five Star Omelet", this omelet is filled with cheddar cheese and Alma's 5 Star Sausage gravy and it comes with a side of seasoned hashbrowns and toast. Whatever you order make sure to bring your appetite with every meal so reasonably priced you are guaranteed to fill your belly, without emptying your wallet.
Daybreak Diner is located at 1168 East Weber Rd, coming from State Route 71 it is just past McGuffy Rd on the left. "Right next to Suzie's Sub Shop".

Comments
We went opening day to this diner, and it was amazing. My son tried (with skepticism!) a cheeseburger omelet... and swears it's the best thing he ever ate in his life.
The food is absolutely delicious.

Happy Easter!
My neighbor on Norwood St used to say for years that we should open up a breakfast shop in the neighborhood. Of course, I would say he was crazy and get up for my daily grind in the real world. I didn't believe him when he said one had opened up there. Good luck to the owner and I look forward to visiting soon!
