Thanks for joining in once again as we continue our exploration of the Bentonville, Arkansas area. To start at Part 1, click here.
One of the wonderful things about this area of Northwest Arkansas is the myriad of fun things to see and do within a 30-minute drive of downtown Bentonville.
Some of these include the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel, an architectural masterpiece created by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright; The Wonderland Cave, the largest cave in the Northwest Arkansas Ozarks and listed on the National Register of Historic Places; and the Veterans Wall of Honor, honoring those who have served our country - all in Bella Vista.
In Rogers there is the Rogers Historical Museum, sharing the rich heritage and vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of the city of Rogers as well as that of Northwest Arkansas; and the Daisy Air Gun Museum, which preserves and shares the history of Daisy air guns, an American institution. And in Gentry, try the Wild Wilderness Drive Through Safari, a 400-acre safari for exotic animals.
Play Ball!
Located just 20 minutes from town is Arvest Ballpark, one of the newest minor league baseball facilities in the entire country and the home of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the AA-Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
During the season (April through Labor Day), this boutique, 6,500-seat ballpark is teaming with families, groups and others who come here from a 30-mile radius to enjoy a very affordable and family friendly experience with tickets priced at only $16 for seats in the first 10 rows! And from anywhere, fans have a clear view of the field and all of the action. There is also a great kids’ area with all sorts of play apparatus and the like, and the suites here, which are available for corporations, groups and others, are wonderful.
When it’s time to get your eat on, you’ll find the usual ballpark fare plus a wide variety of smoked meats, barbecue sandwiches and platters, sausage and cheesesteak grills and their specialty Nachos made with smoked pulled pork, barbecue and cheese sauces and creamy guacamole. Additionally, unlike some other ballparks, all concession food is cooked at the individual stands, so everything is fresh when you order.
