This Memorial Day weekend saw the second coming of the May edition of the Boston Calling Music Festival. Right down in City Hall Plaza, 23 bands played their hearts out over three days that would get any music lover's heart racing. The first of the three days came Friday night, when Boston Calling gave its audience just a taste of what was to come.
Gates opened at six o'clock, and Cass McCombs took the stage soon after. Boston Calling 2014 was officially in session.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros followed, bringing one of the best sets of the weekend.
Closing out the night was Jack Johnson, who delivered despite being less than enthused by the fact that the Boston weather had him seeing his own breath.
