Day of Resistance: Ohioans protest against gun control

Just weeks after Barack Obama’s re-election, the President issued 23 executive orders against the U.S. Constitution’s second amendment right to bear arms on January 16, 2013. He did this on his own, without the consent of congressional majority votes, which is another violation of the U.S. Constitution and steps on the system of check and balances of having multiple branches of government.

The citizens of Ohio and across our nation are standing together on February 23, 2013, to protect the rights of good citizens. Organizations will hold local protest in neighborhoods and communities in defiance of many unconstitutional acts by Obama and his administration.

In Ohio, mother of two, Julie Buck, told local WCPO news reporter, Anthony Mirones, "We have the right for the protection if we so choose," she said. She is not a current gun owner but is in the process of getting one. "We feel that some of the proposed laws right now are making law abiding citizens the criminal," said Buck. "We need to focus on the actual criminal who is committing the crimes."

Buck and other citizens for gun rights will gather in West Chester, Ohio, for a “Day of Resistance” on Saturday, February 23, 2013. The event is part of a nationwide protest against the Obama administration’s gun legislation proposals and executive orders handed down last month.

The Day of Resistance Facebook page announced today’s event at The Square at Union Centre, 9285 Centre Pointe Drive, West Chester Township, Ohio 45069, 12 noon – 4:00 p.m.
