Day after Christmas sales for Walmart, Kmart, Target, Sears and other stores have already been announced. In some cases, like Walmart, stores will open their doors at 5 a.m. hoping to entice the customers back in the stores to pick up where the Christmas sales left off, according to USA Today on Dec. 25.

The Day after Christmas is the biggest day for gift card shopping and don’t forget about returns. The lines to bring back unwanted Christmas gifts are very long the day after Christmas.

As far as Christmas stuff like wrapping paper, decor and anything to do with a Christmas theme is usually offered at huge savings the day after Christmas. So if you are in the market for a new artificial tree, or if you want to buy next year's gift wrap, now is the time to do it.

Retailers didn't do the numbers they hoped for this year.
