Today's Christmas movie pick is "We're No Angels." "We're No Angels," is a 1955 comedy that starred Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, and Peter Ustinov. They played men that escape from prison on Devil's Island just before the holidays. There they escape and come to a small town.
In the movie these convicts learn a little more about staying on the right side of the law and it does help that Christmas is just around the corner. They stay with a family and at first are up to their ways but watch and see what happens that changes their minds.
There is even once scene where the convicts decide to make a Christmas supper for the family that they are staying (and conning) with. Though the dinner is intentionally done, where the goods come from are a different story.
While the Neil Jordan remake is not as good as the original (You can't top that cast) it's still an okay movie to watch. The original though is more holiday spirited.
So tonight rent this movie, for Amazon prime members it's free and for those who have it, it's $2.99 for a 48 rental. It's not streaming on Netflix. Also go look at your local video store.
