This short psalm of only eleven verses, assures us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
As you meditate and reflect God during this Lenten season, remember that God is ever present in your life. Therefore, there is absolutely nothing you should fear.
Psalm 46 outlines things that would cause the natural man to fear; however, the child of God will be protected from those calamities.
For instance, the psalmist assures the true believer that though the earth be removed and through the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters roar and be troubled and the mountains shake with the swelling of the water, God will still be in midst of everything that is going on and is in complete control (Psalm 46:2-5).
The psalmist encourages believers to "Be still, and know that God is God, and He will be exalted in the earth because God is with us and He is our refuge (Psalm 46:10-11)
