The days of the Halloween countdown is slowly dwindling, hope that everyone has been having fun with this and have been watching some great cheesy 80s flicks. Today's pick for 80s horror on Netflix is "Slugs." Juan Piquer Simón directed this very campy flick. Called in reviews one of the best schlock films.
"Slugs" was released in 1988 and it's based on a book by Shaun Hutson. This 'monster' film starred, Michael Garfield, Kim Terry, Philip MacHale, and Santiago Alvarez. There are some out of the world death scenes and it makes you wonder how slugs can be so dangerous and creepy. If you're wondering watch the film and be awed on what a slug can do. It's like "Attack of the Killer Shrews" or "Attack of the Killer Leeches."
So the lesson in this film is your common garden slug can devour you, if of course you're not careful. It's fun, weird, and could be a lot worse. Oh and fun fact from IMDb, it was banned in the Australian state of Queensland until the early-'90s. If that's a true fact, guess the slugs were a little too much.
So "Slugs," the urban horror thriller is today's pick for 31 days of 80s horror.
