Today's pick for 80s horror on Netflix is Wes Craven's "The Serpent and the Rainbow." Zombies are popular, the virus kind but there are other zombies and those zombies come voodoo. This was before the 'virus' flesh eating kind.
"The Serpent and the Rainbow," is based on a true story that was written by Wade Davis. Sound even scarier? The film was released in 1988 and starred Bill Pullman, Cathy Tyson, Paul Winfield, and Brent Jennings. It's about an Anthropologist, who becomes interested in finding a voodoo power that turns the living into these zombies. Well while doing his research horrifying things start to happen to him.
It's a very terrifying film that any true zombie film should see. Also any Wes Craven should see it too. Ben Pullman's performance is pretty top-notch. If you're tired of the recent look at zombies, try out this film then. It's currently on Netflix, perfect for Halloween.
So "The Serpent and the Rainbow," is today's pick for 31 days of Netflix.
