Scripture Reading: John 14:6
The above scripture is the response Jesus gave to doubting Thomas when Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" The answer Jesus gave Thomas applies to everyone.
Jesus did not talk about just "a way" or just "any way." He talked about "the way." There is only one way to get to God and that is through the blood of Jesus Christ. When traveling you might take a different route occasionally, and you will arrive at the same destination. There aren't different routes getting to the Father. There is only one way . . . through Jesus Christ.
When listening to others talk, the truth is embellished and some lies might be told. Jesus doesn't have to stretch the truth or lie to get His point across because Jesus is the embodiment of the truth.
How we live our lives is based on the direct proportion to how much we love Jesus. Jesus should be the center of our lives because He is the life.
In summary, as the way, Jesus is our path to the Father. As the truth, Jesus is the sum total of all of God's promises. As the life, Jesus joins His divine life to ours, both now and eternally.
As you continue on your Lenten journey, reflect on John 14:6. Make sure you are living your life with Jesus being the way, the truth and the life.
You are invited to meditate on the Lenten lesson for Day 28.
