In honor of NBC's new show "Dracula," which airing tonight, today's pick for 31 day of horror is "Count Dracula" The BBC this 1977 Dracula flick and Louis Jourdan starred as the count. Phillipe Savory directed it and it has had positive reviews. When it was first presented it was a three part mini-series. Great Performances aired this BBC production.
It's been called an adaptation that has been pretty much close to the book. The whole series was 150 minutes long. It aired in December 22, you might have thought they would have chosen October? Guess watching "Dracula" during the holiday season never goes out of style!
At the moment "Count Dracula," holds a 7.5 out of 10 on IMDb and on Rotten Tomatoes ironically has no critic reviews but the audience give it a 72%. It does have a DVD release that is $11.70 on Amazon. Also to note it does so far have 72 five star reviews and only five star 1 reviews! So it's generally a postie reviewed movie.
So if you think you've seen them all but haven't seen Louis Jourdan as the Count, you may want to check this out today or anytime before Halloween hits.
