Today's pick for 31 days of classic horror is William Castle's "13 Ghosts." William Castle was a horror director who liked to use gimmicks. His films are always fun to watch. Seen the remake? Probably did well, if you haven't see the original please do then!
There are ghost glasses, 13 ghosts, a family inherits the haunted house, and all the fun things that come to a Castle and ghost film. Fun fact, "13 Ghosts," was hyped with an innovative process called "Illusion-O." Movie patrons were furnished with special, red-and-blue-colored glasses that allowed them to choose to see the ghosts or not.
So if you thought that the popular "Thirteen Ghosts," came from an original idea well it didn't but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie, actually both versions are interesting and quite spooky. Though there is something about watching the original that makes it all the more exciting especially for your first time.
