Today’s exercise is going to help us with back pain. It is a type of yoga that will soothe our aching back pain. Studies show that yoga helps back pain by stretching, flexibility and strengthening our muscles. However yoga is not good for people who suffer from severe back pain. It only helps people who have occasional soreness. With that being said here are some yoga poses to relieve back tension. The first pose is the most common pose used in yoga. It's called 'Downward facing dog' Begin on your hands and knees, with your hands a little bit positioned in front of your shoulders. Pressing back,slowly begin to raise your knees away from the floor and lift your tailbone up toward the ceiling. Try holding this position for as long as you can. The recommended time is 15 seconds.
The triangle pose is a great exercise for strengthening your back and legs. Begin standing up straight. Lunge your left leg back about 3 to 4 steps. Twist your torso and use your opposite arm to touch your leg that is lunged. The other arm should be up and your face should be looking at the arm that is up. The meal plans for today start off with a Spinach & Tomato Omelet for breakfast. For lunch a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder. You can have Chicken Sausage if you can't have seafood. For dinner there is Coconut Lime Chicken. You can order takeout in Boston, Massachusetts if desired.
