A day-long event celebrating the life and memory of Davy Jones of the Monkees will take place June 28 in Beavertown, Pa. The borough in the state's Snyder County was where Jones owned a ranch before he died in 2012.

The event will feature music from tribute bands the Monkeephiles, the Blue Meanies, the Characters and singer Chris Pick. Also featured will be Fred Velez, author of “A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You: The Monkees from a Fan's Perspective.” The Monkeemobile will also be on view.

Beavertown first held a tribute to Jones in 2012. According to Pennlive.com, it attracted fans from Ohio, New York and Ontario, Canada. A second one was held in 2013. More information on this year's event is available from the event's Facebook page.
