The Deseret News reports that a Davis High School teacher was charged with three counts of rape. Police originally arrested her in October. On Tuesday, police jailed and charged Brianne Altice, 34, with three counts of rape.
Charges stem from a 17-year-old student who said he had sex with Altice at her home on five occasions and at a park. The student also identified the design of Altice’s house and tattoos on her body. Altice admitted to having sex with her former student on two occasions. For now, the Davis School District has placed her on paid administrative leave. The Davis County District Attorney’s Office will also investigate to find out if she molested other students.
The story also reports that her husband filed for divorce in November. Altice has taught English at the high school since August 2012. This case is the latest of many different criminal cases involving teachers and students. Read more about the latest teacher scandal at the Deseret News website.
