On my journeys from the past week, I had the opportunity to meet the Tsunami. David Wise is an artist in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Tsunami grew up through the “hippie era”. Tsunami’s self-taught style of “idealistic surrealism” has been perfected.
He has actually worked on 1000’s of pieces of art. From commercial buildings, to body painting models for illusions, surfboards, motorcycles, and such. Tsunami is a fine artist that uses paint brushes and incorporates many layers in his work. He is also an accomplished graphic artist, working on logo's and T Shirt designs; as long as he is creating; he is happy.
We rode down to Dare County beaches to view some of his work. David has painted Island Dyes, Clam Bake and Hurricane Mo's on the beaches of North Carolina, and many other projects as if he is painting the entire island building by building. The surf culture and the colors incorporated are refreshing, he is adding elegance to the island.
This is a picture of Island Dyes as painted by David Wise.

Hurricane Mo's got water logged during Hurricane Sandy and they are currently renovating. David Wise paints murals and assisted with this project.

David is currently painting a mural in a house; it's very impressive. David is a self-taught artist; he does all kinds of designs. He does cards, poems, wall murals, t-shirts, surfboards, mail boxes, and ink drawings on cloth. Some of his work is copyrighted.

The above jobs were completed between August of 2010 and January of 2013. Tsunami visualizes his work in a 3D eye, and he uses no sketches, or grids. In the beginning, clients would ask for sketches, Tsunami would refer to his body of work for reference. He asks the client to list the things they would like, and then he puts the creation together. He does sketch, but there are additional charges.
