NASCAR Nationwide Series team TriStar Motorsports announced on Thursday that it has added veteran Camping World Truck Series driver David Starr to its 2014 driver roster, joining other TriStar drivers, Mike Bliss, Blake Koch, Jeff Green, Eric McClure and Will Kimmel. Star will make his competitive debut with the team in the Feb. 22 season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series," Starr said. "This will be a bit of a change from racing in the Camping World Truck Series, but I'm excited and eager for a new challenge."

Starr is third on the all-time starts list in the Truck Series with 317 series races under his belt. Those 317 starts have resulted in four race wins, 48 top-fives and 117 top-10 finishes. He also has some Nationwide Series experience with 27-career Nationwide Series starts, two of those come in 2013.

"We are happy to have David on board this season at TriStar Motorsports," TriStar owner Mark Smith said. "We have been friends for awhile, and I look forward to working with him during the 2014 season."
