In Jennifer Lawrence's short career, she's managed to woo the American public and is already one of the most sought-after actresses in the business. Last year's Oscar win for Best Actress for David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook didn't hurt either. Lawrence has worked with Russell twice so far (the second time most recently in American Hustle) and it looks like she's set to work with the director again for a new biopic about the inventor of the self-wringing Miracle Mop, Joy Mangano.
Lawrence is set to play Mangano, a Long Island mother who became a successful entrepreneur after her invention and is now a staple on the Home Shopping Network after selling her company, Ingenious Designs, to them after years and millions of dollars later. It'll certainly be a different role for Lawrence as well as something new for Russell. Though the pair's working relationship is shaping up to be something that resembles that of Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese movie partnership.
The script is reportedly being rewritten and directed by Russell, with the original screenplay having been penned by Annie Mumolo, co-writer of 2011's hit comedy Bridesmaids. There's no word yet on when the film will go into production or a when it'll be scheduled for a release date.
