David Letterman retiring: Host makes big announcement

In shocking news today, David Letterman is retiring from "Late Show With David Letterman." On April 3, TV Line shared the news about the big announcement that he is leaving the show. Fans are surprised to see him leaving.

He shared the news during the taping of his show today. He will be leaving, but Letterman will be around until 2015. The host has just decided to go ahead and let fans know and of course he will probably go out with a bang with a bunch of great special guests over the next few months.

The news actually came out on Twitter today from Mike Mills, bassist for tonight’s musical guest R.E.M. David Letterman has extended the show through the end of 2015 and this is going to be the end of his run on the show. He has done this show for 20 years and has been on television for 31 years as a host. Fans are going to miss him on the show.
