David Diehl DUI: Giants player sentenced after DUI guilty plea

David Diehl DUI sentence update. An article from earlier today at New York Daily News says David Diehl has been sentenced after pleading guilty to DUI. Perhaps the NY Giants offensive lineman did himself a favor by pleading guilty, because the judge sentenced him to undergo court-ordered alcohol treatment.

Last June, the 32-year-old football star crashed his BMW into three parked cars along 35th Street near Broadway in Astoria. Witnesses took cellphone video at the scene that shows Diehl being led away by police, who claim the athletes blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.

As part of his sentencing, and to avoid prison time, David Diehl agreed to wear a scram bracelet for 90 days, complete NFL substance abuse treatment, was also placed on six months probation, and ordered to pay $1,200 in restitution and $300 in fines. Additionally, he is not allowed to drive while serving his sentence.

At least the two-time Super Bowl champion had enough integrity to admit he was wrong, instead of paying his way out of trouble like so many other stars do. Hopefully Diehl will learn from this mistake, and not find himself in this situation again.
