David Clarkson getting things done for the NJ Devils and fantasy owners (Photos)

David Clarkson kicked in two more goals and an assist for the New Jersey Devils last night against the New York Rangers to keep his amazing early-season magic going. He has at least a point in all but one of his first nine games this season. Clarkson and line-mate Patrik Elias are in a neck and neck fight for the most points on the team with Clarkson leading the way.

After last night’s winning effort Clarkson now has 7 goals and 5 assists for 12 points in nine games. These are top-tier numbers and fantasy owners should be rejoicing at this sort of production from a bargain, mid-to-late round draft pick who some were even down on. Devils fans, likewise, should be in awe of yet another undrafted Devils player turning into a star before their very eyes night after night.

Clarkson is out-scoring superstars like teammate Ilya Kovalchuk and former Devils’ stud Zach Parise. He is at the top of the heap with the likes of Evgeni Malkin, John Tavares, Pavel Datsyuk and Matt Duchene, to name a few. In fact, he’s tied with Malkin with 12 points in one less game played. Clarkson also kicks in valuable penalty minutes for fantasy owners and can be found in the top two or three in that category on the team.

Clarkson is a gritty, hard working player who goes into the tough areas like the corners and the front of the opposition team’s net. He’s constantly getting in opposing players faces and he gets into physical battles and sticks up for his teammates. In short, he’s the kind of guy you want on your real team and your fantasy team.
