David Cassidy, the once teen star of “The Partridge Family” was charged with driving while intoxicated outside of Albany, New York early today according to the report authorities revealed to Times Union and E! Online on August 21. The reason Cassidy is being charged with felony charges is because he previously had a DWI on his record from the state of Florida already.
The singer that many from the seventies loved and followed through his career to date was arrested by police Officer Tom Jones of the Schodack Police Department in New York. No joke, it is a fact the police officer has the same name as another famous singer we have all heard throughout the years.
David’s blood alcohol level of .10, which is way over the legal limit allowed, is probably what caused him to make a sly remark to the officer when he introduced himself. Cassidy now 63 years of age turned to the police officer and asked him “What’s new, pussycat?”
He was arrested, charged and arraigned before being sent to the Rensselaer County Jail on $2,500 bail. He was soon released and is scheduled for a court date on September4.
David Cassidy’s previous DWI in 2010 where he pled no contest was given a reduced sentence consisting of one year of probation and suspension of his license for six months. He was also required to pay a $500 fine and perform a court ordered 50 hours of community service.
Fans wonder how strict the courts will be with Cassidy as this is his second offense!
