David Cassidy arrested for third time in four years for suspicion of DUI

Former teen idol David Cassidy was arrested near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for suspicion of drunken driving. This happened after the aging actor and singer reportedly made an illegal turn on a red light after exiting the 405 freeway.

According to Yahoo! via Reuters on Jan. 11, an officer for the California Highway Patrol conducted a field sobriety test on the David who made it big in the 1970s. This test was conducted after David reportedly smelled as if he had been imbibing.

The result?

David Cassidy was said to have blown a blood alcohol level of .19 which is twice the legal California limit. It's only been six months since Cassidy was arrested and charged with drunken driving, that time in upstate New York. Another conviction came in 2010 in Florida for the same reason.

By way of background, the 63-year-old thespian recently spent time in rehab according to his manager and publicist, Jo-Ann Geffen. Some pundits say the former heartthrob may well be suffering a serious drinking problem.

Although this household name who once had everyone singing his song, "I Think I Love You," is a Florida resident, he was in California to deliver a deposition. And so, while driving a rented Chevy Impala, David Cassidy was arrested for the third time in four years for suspicion of DUI.
