The featured artist for the month of January at the Art On The Divide cooperative gallery is David Blonski. David’s art and music will be specially featured for the entire month of January and a reception for the artist will take place on Sunday, January 8th, at the gallery from 1pm to 5pm. The public is welcome to stop by the gallery and meet the artist personally, browse through the broad selection of works at the gallery, and enjoy some refreshments.
David is working as a fractal artist, meaning that his images are generated on a computer using mathematical formulas that have been developed by fractal mathematicians or fractal explorers like himself. Using various formulas, colors, and filters, David is able to create unique and vibrant images that can then be printed or transferred to video DVD. David began developing the imaging for use in conjunction with his musical efforts.
In addition to his visual fractal artistry, David is involved in music with his own personal twist. He enjoys exploring music that reflects the moods created by the natural wonders of our planet. In particular, he has been working with more primitive instruments, such as the didgeridoo from aboriginal Australia. Again, he uses the computer to create music pieces which are available on CD.
The gallery features the work of twenty member artists and is located at 6295 Main Street in historic Georgetown. The phone number is 530-333-2787. Fall/winter hours at the gallery are 10am to 5pm Friday through Sunday. Click here to visit the website for additional information.
