On Dec. 31, David Beckham officially joined the Paris St Germain soccer club and will be heading to the French capital to play without his wife, Victoria.
According to Reuters by way of Yahoo, the 37-year-old athlete won't be joined by the rest of his family either since the kids will need to stay in school in London where Mrs. Beckham runs her empire.
But don't be blue. Paris is just a quick hop over, under, or by way of the English Channel to the British capital, and so Beckham's clan can easily visit him. Vice versa, the soccer player can easily get back to London in short order.
Meanwhile, while in Paris, David Beckham reportedly won't be drawing a salary. Instead, he will generously give what would have been his keep to a children's home located in the City of Light.
By way of background, Beckham recently left his life in Los Angeles where he won the league title in his final season with LA Galaxy. David also did the same for Manchester United and Real Madrid.
And now he's onto a new gig to play, and play hard, for Paris St. Germain. Sadly, he will be doing this in perhaps the most romantic city on earth without his wife, Victoria.
However, the fashion mogul and former member of the Spice Girls will likely make every effort to see her husband on the field whenever possible and he will probably get to see his entire family on a regular basis because of the close proximity that Paris enjoys with London.
Now that's a good David Beckham goal is there ever was one.
